Alex Wall is backing the London2018 bid.

Alex Wall is backing the bid to host the Gay Games in London2018.  Here’s why…

“I am going to my first gay games in Cleveland 2014 (Was very tempted to go to Cologne in 2010 but was in my first year as a graduate and was desperately looking for a job!)”

And boy is he going to be busy.  “In Cleveland I will be competing in: Open Water Swim and then possibly Badminton in the week and the half marathon at the weekend. Even though I haven’t competed in the gay games directly, I have experience having ran in two gay pride 10k’s in London, and one gay pride 5k in Newcastle.”

He thinks the Gay Games are a great idea. “It not only brings people from different nationalities and backgrounds together, it also helps breaks down the stigmas attached to being gay.”

He’d love it to be held in London2018 because, “obviously as a resident in the UK having the Gay Games in London would make it a more accessible event to myself and if we were selected I would hope to get involved and help in the volunteering and helping the event be as successful as possible.”
